Parsley Is important In the fight against breast cancer

The modest green, parsley, which is used to garnish is suddenly the star of your dinner plate. Recent research has shown that apigenin-a compound in parsley and celery-certain breast cancer tumor cells from multiplying can stop and growing. Apigenin not prevent breast cancer to develop, but it can prevent the tumor angiogenesis by blocking synthetic progestin.

Dr. Salman Hyder, who studies tumor angiogenesis in lab animals, found that rats with breast cancer breast tumors grew less as it consumes parsley, celery, apples, oranges and nuts with apigenin. the rats in this study were also exposed to hormonal replacement therapy (HRT)-synthetic hormones prescribed to relieve symptoms of menopause. over 10 million women in America take HRT Dr Hyder said., "We know that certain synthetic hormones used in HRT breast tumor development. In our study we exposed the rats to one of the chemicals used in the most common HRTs received in the United States-a progestin medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA)-who happens to be the same synthetic hormone that breast development accelerates tumor. "

Breast tumors have a supply of blood and nutrients to keep themselves and grow. tumors hijack your blood flow through their own system of blood vessels, the movement of life-giving food and oxygen to healthy tissue. once a steady stream of power supply for tumors divert is established, their growth and distribution are more difficult to combat. Oncologists can trade name Avastin (Bevacizumab), a targeted biological therapy, in combination with chemotherapy drugsto prevent the tumour angiogenesis.

So how much of that curly green garnish, we should eat? Dr. Hyder explains that we are not very efficient apigenin just eat the parsley and celery. He plans to absorb further study on the amount of apigenin that would be effective. for now, he says, "seems, however, that a minimum level of apigenin keep into the bloodstream is important to slow down the development of cancer of the breast that progresses in response to progestins (synthetic) such as medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA)). It is probably a good idea to eat a little parsley and some fruit every day to ensure the minimum amount. "Dr. Hyder the study was recently published in Cancer Prevention Research.

Some simple ways to get a daily dose of parsley or celery would be to a dish of tabouli (you get a bonus of whole grains!), fresh pasta with walnut Parsley pesto, or a nice serving of omega-3 rich parsley-crusted salmon. But should you slice it or submit it, parsley and other foods that contain anti-cancer apigenin part of your diet for the prevention of cancer of the breast.
